About Jon Ching
Jon Ching is a self-trained artist originally from Kaneohe, Hawaii, who currently resides and works in Los Angeles, California. Growing up surrounded by the natural beauty of O’ahu, Hawai’i, Jon developed a deep appreciation and respect for nature. These lessons have profoundly influenced his work, driving his fascination with the natural and wild world.
Jon’s art practice is characterized by detailed realism and a deep sense of interconnectedness with nature. His meticulously rendered oil paintings are surreal imaginings of the limitless wonders and combinations nature can produce. Through his art, new creatures and symbiotic relationships emerge, exemplifying the endless potential of life on Earth through metaphor and allegory.
Jon’s ultimate goal is to inspire love and admiration for the unique beauty and intrigue of our planet. He actively works to raise awareness about endangered species, the current mass extinction crisis, and climate change. Jon also partners with environmental organizations to support fundraising and educational efforts.
