This course establishes the foundation for character, creature and environment design. Your mentor will share the tools you need to accelerate as a concept designer. Each class consists of lectures on technique, skill, critique, and demonstrations. Outside of the live class, students will advance their skills and comprehension by way of hands-on assignments and access to a variety of insightful documents. In addition, this course features two industry-acclaimed concept artists as guest speakers.

With a career in games and publishing spanning 15 years, Kieran has worked as an illustrator, concept artist, UI artist and art director.

Born and raised in the Australian coastal city of Darwin, Kieran relocated to the United States of America at the age of 20 to pursue his dreams as a games and publishing artist. He currently works as a full time freelance artist for a variety of clientele at his studio in Seattle, Washington. This will be Kieran’s first year instructing as a mentor at Visual Arts Passage.
