DECLUTTERING

Maybe, just maybe, we don’t need every Prismacolor pen ever made on our desk at the same time. But, we do need easy access! Find small clear shoeboxes at any discount shop or big box store and attach labels for each type of artist tool. These can easily stack underneath your desk. Decluttering is not just good for finding art supplies quickly. It can help create a calm work environment, further improving your focus on the task at hand.

KEEP MOTIVATION ALL AROUND

Creative spaces need to not only help keep you focused, they need to help keep you inspired. Working around artwork and items that spark something when you’re near them is just as essential as decluttering (but, keep the collection minimal, you don’t want it to become distracting).

TIMING IS EVERYTHING

Finding out that time is scientifically proven to improve your peak creativity is not a revelation, but it doesn’t make it any less important. Don’t forget that this is work! It’s hard to keep going for 8 hours straight, take timed breaks and try not to exceed 120 hours without one.
