Robert Hunt

Illustrator & Painter

Robert Hunt has created illustrations for a wide variety of projects, including hundreds of book covers, editorial illustrations, magazine covers, advertisements, annual reports, packaging, and documentary projects. Robert has created several illustrated motion logos for entertainment companies, including the DreamWorks and Broad Green Pictures motion logos. 

His clients include Time magazine, Rolling Stone, Tor.com, DreamWorks, Random House, Asset International, Broad Green Pictures, CBS Records, Criterion Collection, Disney, Scientific American, Microsoft, The New Republic, Penguin Random House, Scholastic Publishing, Nike, the Wall Street Journal, Williams Sonoma, and many more.

Robert Hunt’s professional accomplishments include two of the highest awards in illustration, the Hamilton King Award (2015) and the Distinguished Educator in the Arts Award (2017) from Society of Illustrators. His work appears regularly in the Society of illustrators annual professional shows at the Museum of American Illustration as well as the American Illustration, Spectrum, Print and Communication Arts annuals. 

A two-man mid-career retrospective of his work, with Kazuhiko Sano, was held at the Society of Illustrators in 1996. He has also had three one-man shows of his landscape paintings.

Robert Hunt is also a Professor of Illustration at the California College of the Arts where he teaches illustration, Painting and Professional Practice.
