A COMIC INDUSTRY ICON SHARES HIS COVER ART WISDOM.

This workshop is an immersive educational experience led by an industry legend, Bill Sienkiewicz. Over the course of 3 on-demand classes, students will complete a cover art assignment. This assignment reflects projects typically received by Sienkiewicz over his career in the comic book industry. In addition to completing the assignment, you will also have a chance to observe Bill Sienkiewicz process through demonstrations. Sienkieiwicz will also discuss in great detail the many stages of his long career. This 3-part workshop is 9 hours of recorded content. The workshop is available for streaming for up to 1 year after purchase.

THE ASSIGNMENT

Develop a complete understanding of Bill Sienkiewicz's process in developing compelling cover art for a comic book and create cover art in the process.

Session 1

LECTURE & ASSIGNMENT

  • Presentation and lecture of Bill Sienkiewicz's work.
  • Students receive an assignment and demonstration on how to proceed by Sienkiewicz.

Session 2

GUIDANCE & DEMO

  • Learn from previous students' projects as Sienkiewicz critique their work. 
  • Additional demonstration by Sienkiewicz is presented during this session.

Session 3

REVIEW & CRITIQUE

  • Review and critique finished assignment.
  • The critique process is an extremely valuable element of the learning process.
  • On-demand attendees do not receive a critique.
 
 

About Bill Sienkiewicz

Bill Sienkiewicz (pronounced sin-KEV-itch) is an Eisner-winning, Emmy-nominated artist best known for revamping the style of comic and graphic novel illustration from 1980 onward, most notably with Marvel Comic's Elektra: Assassinand his acclaimed graphic novel Stray Toasters, earning him an international reputation and cult status across media industries. 

He created groundbreaking movie promotional art for The Dark Knight, The Grinch, Unforgiven and the hit video game Resident Evil. Sienkiewicz' character design for the upcoming DreamWorks' film Alcatraz Versus The Evil Librarians has now opened doors for producing. Sienkiewicz is conceptualizing characters for LionsGate's supernatural Western The Man With No Name, which he will executive produce with Braxton Pope. He will also jointly produce, write and direct the film of his Stray Toasters with Jeff Renfroe.
